Sprinkle salt on the drink napkins in a restaurant and the napkin won't stick to your glass when you pick it up.

Thumbs up using salt to preserve...

Use salt to preserve your fresh herbs or hot peppers!

Put a layer of salt ( I use sea or kosher ) in the bottom of a container add a layer of herbs or peppers. Continue to add salt layers and herb or pepper until container is filled.

This works great for basil ( which is hard to dry by anyother method ) .

The salt can be used as seasoning once all the herb or pepper has been used.

Ever have a problem with pies bubbling over while baking? Next time this happens, put enough salt on the mess to cover the spill. This will stop the burnt smell and will turn light and crusty from the oven's heat so you can just wipe it off the oven floor when cool,To keep cheese from going moldy in your fridge, wrap it in a cheesecloth dampened with salt water, Put an egg in a cup of water to which you've added two teaspoons of salt. A fresh egg will sink, but one that's iffy will float. These are the best uses of table salt.

If you are bothered by ants, sprinkle a little on the shelves of your kitchen cabinets and the ants will disappear.

    Hi,

Thanks for sharing uses of table salt. One can also cut an orange in half and sprinkle both halves with table salt. They will freshen the air at home. Make pecans and walnuts easier to shell by soaking them in salt water overnight first.
