Buckwheat Dumplings

Buckwheat Dumplings

2 cups buckwheat flour
1 tablespoon cornstarch
4 teaspoons baking powder
salt
pepper
3/4 cup milk
1 egg
3 tablespoons oil

Sift together flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt and pepper
into a bowl. Stir together milk, egg and oil. Add to dry ingredients.
Stir until just moistened. Drop by spoonfuls onto simmering stew
or soup. Cover pot tightly. Steam until until done, about 15
minutes, without lifting cover. Makes 12.
