Caramel Apple Slices
6 medium apples
3 tbsp lemon juice
3 tbsp butter
3 tbsp brown sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
Pare and core apples and cut them into eights. Drop them into water mixed with lemon juice.
Melt butter in heavy skillet with a tight-fitting cover and add drained apples. Cover and cook over low heat 10 minutes, or until apples soften.
Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon and cook, uncovered, 15 to 20 minutes longer. Serve while warm with whipped cream.
